    What is the Purpose for the Law?
    • It shows me what sin is
    • It arouses sin in me
    • It teaches me of the holiness of God
    • It declares all sin as rebellion against God
    • It proves that no man can be saved by his efforts
    • It condemns me to death
    • It leads us to repentance
    • It points me to Christ who is the fulfillment of the Law
    • It teaches me the extreme value of God’s mercy

    What is meant by: “We Live By Faith”?
    • Faith has an object - We have faith in Christ - Faith is not some power or ability that we possess
    • Faith is living in God’s reality – not ours - Faith is about the doctrine of imputation
    • Faith rightly orders love - Faith causes us to love created things properly
    • Faith is our sight - Faith in God’s truth is the spiritual eyes for the believer
    • Faith is power - Faith is the engine that powers us to obedience
    • Faith always looks to the future - Faith is all about living for the future while yet in the present

    Three Clarifications of Justification:
    • All religions seek justification in one of two ways - by the work and effort of man - by the work and effort of God
    • Justification is a work of God - it is the opposite of condemnation - it is being pardoned for all sin and guilt - it is being declared legally righteous and accepted
    • Faith is the only instrument for justification - faith in Jesus Christ - it is Christ who saves us – faith places us in Him

    • The gospel is about a rescue mission - it is about what Christ has done for you - the truly saved will praise Him generously
    • Expect a lifelong need for diligent discernment - we have an enemy who always distorts truth
    • It is WHAT you believe that is important - not just how sincerely you believe it
    • In your life you will have to take a stand for Christ, and against men
    • God reveals Christ to me so that He might be revealed in me

    The test of confession involves three things:
    • True confession includes heart conviction
    • A true Christ – A Biblical Christology
    • A true Gospel
    The test of listening involves:
    • They speak from the world’s perspective
    • The world listens to them
    • Whoever knows God listens to the apostles (through the scriptures)
    • Whoever is not from God does not listen to the apostles (scriptures)

    4. To be a Kingdom under the rule of God Almighty - We live as a people under the rule of the King
    5. To be a demonstration of a people who live by faith - We demonstrate to the world a life lived by faith

    Irreversible Truths of the Law of Sowing and Reaping
    1. Whatever a man sows, he will reap
    2. The kind that we sow is the kind that we will reap
    3. The law of S&R is both negative and positive
    4. We reap MORE than we sow
    5. Sowing is reactive – it is responding to a desire
    6. When we sow to the flesh, we are deceived
    7. We reap in proportion to how much we sow
    8. Sowing and Reaping are in different seasons - reaping comes in God’s appointed season
    9. The cross is proof that the law of S&R is fixed
    10. The Gospel does not remove the law of S&R - it switches the roles of the sower and reaper - we reap what Christ has sown - He reaped what we have sown
    11. God uses the law of S&R to discipline His children
    12. We reap a harvest of “fruit” - fruit has seed which will start S&R over again
