Biblical Counseling
Whether you are struggling with a marriage or parent/child relationship, depression, anxiety or anger, addictions or abuse, or just spiritual apathy, we are convinced that God enables His people to weather the storms of life and grants His peace to rule and reign in their lives. Biblical counseling will point you to a merciful Savior who offers hope and help by the power of God’s Spirit through His Word.
“For man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward. However, if I were you, I would appeal to God and lay my cause before Him—the One who does great and unsearchable things, wonders without number.” Job 5:7-9
All of us desire trouble-free living, yet the Bible tells us that we are born for trouble as sure as sparks fly upward. We can all testify that this is true. Still, we long for peace and wonder if real peace in this life is obtainable. If it is, where do we find it? Where should we look? To whom do we turn?
God has made bold claims concerning our troubled lives. He has said that He would give perfect peace to those whose minds are set upon Him and who trust Him (Isaiah 26:3) and that His supernatural peace can guard our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:6-7). He has declared that He has given His people everything they need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). These are very impressive claims! If they are true, and they are, why would we not base our lives on the book that has been written by the same God who made these claims?
What Is Biblical Counseling?
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Biblical counseling recognizes that the Bible is written by God Himself and is foundational and sufficient for life that, first, glorifies Him and, second, is best for us. If you have been saved by Christ through His death on the cross, then you have been transformed into a new person. This new person continues to be changed through the Holy Spirit and the spiritual truths of Scripture, even to the point of being made complete in God’s sight (2 Timothy 3:17). The task of biblical counseling is for trained counselors to assist counselees to know, understand, and apply these transforming truths to their lives.

- We ask counselees to arrive on time each week for sessions (which will typically last 60-75 minutes) and to give 24 hours’ notice if it is necessary to cancel.
- Counselees will be expected to complete weekly personal growth assignments given by the counselor.
